Side with Shadow one more time

TWICE of late Walk In My Shadow has done us tasty favours and one cannot resist rowing in with her again in the first division of the Connollys' Red Mills Horse Care Cubes Handicap at Roscommon this evening.

Side with Shadow one more time

Austin Leahy's mare has won two of her three races this season and a tendency to do just enough has meant the handicapper hasn't been overly harsh on the five-year-old.

She again showed the right qualities when scoring at Killarney six days ago. Despite failing to settle for much of the journey, she answered the call from Wayne Lordan in the closing stages to beat Cove Mountain half a length.

The daughter of Orpen has been raised 5lbs for that effort, but stepping up another furlong and a half or so in trip can only work in her favour and she gets the nap.

Shane Donohoe's Mill House Girl is very much the interesting one in the 12 furlongs Ballybride Maiden.

This dual bumper winner ran the race of her life in the Champion Bumper at Punchestown when a highly creditable fourth behind Leading Run, Hairy Molly and Lord Over.

She gets the vote on the basis that the ground remains on the good side. If the rains arrive then it may be prudent to wait for another day!

Liam Burke's Simons Girl, touched off late by Presenting Copper at Tipperary, is the choice in the Kepak Bumper.
