Hefty fine for Mann

CHARLIE MANN will be looking to avoid any further brushes with racing’s authorities after being warned yesterday that the withdrawal of his trainer’s licence had been an option under consideration by the Jockey Club.

Hefty fine for Mann

Mann was fined £5,000 at a hearing of the Club's disciplinary panel after being found guilty for the third time of sending the wrong runner to the racecourse.

After two similar incidents, which both occurred in 2001, Mann's third case of mistaken identity took place at Plumpton on September 27 when Trump Card appeared in a handicap hurdle in place of stablemate Investment Force.
