Springwater turns on the tap

WITH only three hundreths of a second between them on the clock, the scene is set for in interesting showdown between Springwater Boy and King Okee in the final of the Diarmuid Coffey Bookmaker Stakes at Curraheen Park on Saturday night.

Springwater turns on the tap

Springwater Boy made virtually all in the opening semi-final on Saturday night. The Ann Wade trained runner appreciated the switch to the inside and, after winning the battle for the early lead with the reserve Striking Dream, he had edged three lengths ahead by halfway. Scheming Bill, moderately away, went a clear second at this point but could make no impression on the leader who had three lengths to spare at the line in 31.46.

That time was bettered marginally by King Okee in the second semi-final.
