You won’t go wrong with Mr Wong

FOLLOWING the excitement of the three day Galway Festival, the spotlight turns to Downpatrick this afternoon where the best bet on the card could be the Jessica Harrington trained Mr Wong in the Fosters In Wineflair Beginners Chase, over two miles and two furlongs

The seven year-old has finished in the first four in five of his seven races this year and although he has only one success - when making his debut on the flat at Cork in April - he has shown very promising form of late over fences, finishing a three quarters of a length second to Forrestfield over this afternoon’s trip at Punchestown on Sunday when hot favourite.

That race will have sharpened him up and he should score at the expense of the Pat Nolan trained Lord Seskin.
