Dettori increases title lead

FRANKIE DETTORI returned to the racecourse hungry for victory yesterday and duly landed the spoils in the opening race at Ascot.

After taking Thursday off to launch his autobiography, Dettori booted home Destination Dubai to take his tally for the season to 159 winners, with Kieren Fallon still on 156.

The 9-1 shot’s victory in the Sodexho European Breeders Fund Classified Stakes was the popular Italian’s only winner of the afternoon, with Fallon drawing a blank.
