Newton Abbot meeting under threat

WATERLOGGING is threatening to rule out Newton Abbot’s meeting today and an inspection has been called for 7am.

The going was described yesterday as soft, heavy with waterlogging in places. It has been raining all day and more is forecast.

“Up to about 4pm we had 16 millimetres today on top of 21 over the weekend. Prior to that we had a relatively wet week,” said Newton Abbot estate manager Jason Loosemore.
