WESTERN ROAD, who has threatened to deliver more than she has done so far, gets the nap to take the Lingstown Maiden Hudle at Wexford today.

It all points to Western Road

The daughter of King’s Theatre was quietly supported in the market at Downpatrick nine days ago, in the contest won by Shuil Le Bob.

She travelled really well through the race and appeared to be full of running going to the fourth last.

The selection, however, crashed out at the obstacle and it was clearly too far from home to draw any sort of definite conclusions.

What we do know with reasonable certainty, though, is that this afternoon’s race is moderate enough and Western Road looks well worth risking.

Paul Nolan’s Escrea, a close third to Simon and Man About Town on this track, rates the main danger.

Willie Mullins’ LivingstoneBramble holds outstanding claims in the Dunbrody Beginners Chase.

He was returning from a long break at Clonmel recently when performing with real promise in finishing third behind stable companion, Jasmin D’Oudairies, and Be My Better Half.

His jumping was particularly sound and the eight-year-old is surely entitled to come on plenty for the much needed outing.

Former winning pointer Whizbang is the one to beat in the INH Stallion Owners’ EBF Maiden hurdle.

There was plenty to admire about his racecourse debut at Punchestown when third behind Kerryhead Windfarm and I’ll Call You Back.
