Notable milestone for Godolphin

GODOLPHIN chalked up another notable milestone when Highlander gave Sheikh Mohammed’s operation its 1,000th winner at Nottingham yesterday.

The Elusive Quality colt, sent off a 5-1 chance, beat Move Over Darling in the first division of the one-mile David Ashley Construction Limited Maiden Stakes under Frankie Dettori.

The ‘boys in blue’ sent out their first winner at Nad Al Sheba in 1992 when Cutwater took the Hooyer Stakes, with Balanchine providing a first British Classic success at Epsom in 1994.

Trainer Saeed Bin Suroor said: “There have been so many highlights but I have to mention Dubai Millennium in the Dubai World Cup, Daylami and Fantastic Light in the Breeders’ Cup, and also all the Classic winners we have had in Europe.”
