Cantona’s can enhance his Laurels claims

A COUPLE of impressive performances have seen Hee Haw Cantona’s odds slashed from 25-1 to 7-1 for the Cashmans Irish Laurels and Ian Reilly’s ace can further enhance his claims in the classic by taking the second of tonight's quarter-finals.

Cantona’s can enhance his Laurels claims

A game 28.58 first round winner, Hee Haws Cantona again showed plenty of resolution when following up in 28.49 last week.

Hee Haws Cantona has a four draw with which to contend but, with Ballymac Floss on his immediate left likely to cut in early doors, he should enjoy plenty of room to manoeuvre.

Owen McKenna’s Student Pass, who runs from two, opened his account in the stake last week, carding 28.61, but he has struggled at trap-rise in recent weeks and runs the risk of being hemmed in.

Ante-post favourite Tyrur Ted can also keep his 100% record in the classic intact in the third quarter-final.

Although not overly impressive, Paul Hennessy’s ace has shown plenty of guile en route to 28.90 and 28.65 wins and is difficult to oppose.

Deerfield Mover, unlucky when third behind Hee Haws Cantona last week (denied a clear run when challenging at the last bend) reads the pick of the opposition

The opening quarter-final promises a race to savour.

Impressive second round winners Superhods Hero and Goblet Of Fire command plenty of respect but it may pay to take a chance on the well drawn Enchanting Hero.

Paul Kiely’s runner mistimed his exit and was held up early on when a two and a half lengths runner-up behind Superhods Hero. A switch to the rails may enable him turn the tables.

Vancouver Sparky, always prominent when second behind Goblet of Fire last week, looks the best option in the fourth quarter-final.
