Rumble set to redeem reputation
The Paul Hennessy trained runner suffered a shock first round defeat, finishing a disappointing two and a half lengths third in 42.56.
Heart Rumble is clearly way better than that, numbering a 41.61 effort on Laurels’ finals night among his 18 career wins, and can bounce back here.
Rushmoore Honcho, who made it eight wins from 11 outings when carding 42.19 last week, rates the pick of the opposition.
Haliska Blue is another on a retrieving mission in the second semi-final, having also failed to land the odds last week.
Brian McCann’s six-times winner ran below par when third in 42.69 and is probably better judged on the forn that saw him run Heart Rumble close here last month.
The improving Attractive Major can get backers off to a flier by landing the opening race. Owen McKenna’s ace numbers a 16.47 run at Clonmel among his three wins and should take a deal of pegging back. McKenna can also collect with Alimo in the last. Alimo has kept good class company since carding 28.68 at Harolds Cross in August.
John Linehan has a strong team in action tonight and his down-in-class Satin Sandy is one to note in heat one of the Blarney Backgraders Stakes.
