THE chairman of the Show Jumping Association of Ireland (SJAI) hopes this week to convince the chairman of the Irish team selectors committee to withdraw his resignation threat.

Charles Hanley yesterday said he was working on setting up a meeting with International Affairs Committee chief Taylor Vard on either Wednesday or Thursday. However, Hanley said yesterday he had yet to receive confirmation Vard would agree to the meeting.

Hanley confirmed that Robert Splaine - who has been nominated by the SJAI as the new chef d’equipe to the senior international team - had agreed to attend.
