O’Brien’s trio of Morny possibles

AIDAN O’BRIEN is still three-handed in Sunday’s Group One Prix Morny at Deauville following the first forfeit stage.

The Ballydoyle trainer has left in unbeaten July Stakes winner Ivan Denisovich, Phoenix Stakes runner-up Amadeus Mozart and Nero.

Also featuring in the 10-strong list of possible runners are Flashy Wings, Mick Channon’s unbeaten Queen Mary Stakes heroine who runs in the Lowther Stakes at York this afternoon, and her classy stablemates Puskas and Silca’s Sister.

Chief French hopes rest with Robert Collet’s unbeaten Prix Robert Papin scorer New Girlfriend and Jean-Claude Rouget’s Mauralakana, who won her debut over the course and distance earlier this month.

Collet’s Queensalsa completes the provisional field for the six-furlong feature won last year by Divine Proportions.

Elie Lellouche’s Ascot Gold Cup winner Westerner heads the forfeits for the Group Two Prix Kergorlay on the same card which also features Pascal Bary’s 2004 French Derby winner Blue Canari.
