One Cool Cat set for Curragh return
The three-year-old Storm Cat colt has not been seen on the track since finishing second-to-last in the UltimateBet.com 2000 Guineas at Newmarket in May after being sent off the 15-8 favourite.
One Cool Cat was found to be suffering from an irregular heartbeat after the race and he then missed the Boylesports Irish 2000 Guineas after a routine scope revealed a low-grade infection.
He will drop to Group Three level for the Curragh race on July 17. O’Brien said: “The plan is to definitely run on Saturday. The horse is in very good form, pleasing in his training, and we could not be happier with him.”
One Cool Cat is set to be one of a powerful Ballydoyle team for the two-day fixture.
On the Sunday, All Too Beautiful is on course to renew her rivalry with Ouija Board in the Darley Irish Oaks after finishing second to Ed Dunlop’s horse in the Epsom equivalent.
O’Brien is also due to run recent Curragh maiden winner Agenda, but the Epsom fourth Necklace is likely to miss the race. Norfolk Stakes fourth Cougar Cat is likely to contest the Dubai Duty Free Anglesey Stakes, while Solskjaer will run in the Group Three Minstrel Stakes.
