Tyrur Ted can lay down early marker

TYRUR TED will be the main attraction when the concluding session of first round heats in the Cashmans Irish Laurels is run off at Curraheen Park tonight.

Tyrur Ted can lay down early marker

Paul Hennessy’s ace is 4-1 ante-post favourite with the sponsors and can lay down an early maker in the classic in heat eight.

Tyur Ted rattled off a quick-fire hat-trick in the Irish Derby before making an unlucky exit in the quarter-finals.

The presence of Smart Teddy and Annies Lamb adds plenty of spice to the contest but Tyrur Ted is a class act and cannot be opposed from trap six.

Roisins Dessie is an automatic choice in heat 11. Nick Turner’s Produce Stakes and Macroom Motors Stakes winner was unlucky when bowing out in the third round of the Derby.

Rosins Dessie created a very favourable impression when carding 28.37 in a recent solo and looks a cut above this opposition.

Owen McKenna, who turned out Boherduff Light to land the 2004 Laurels, can click with Student Pass in heat 10. The Guinness Trophy winner (28.24) is returning from a lay-off but a couple of recent trials should have him nicely primed for this assignment.
