O’Brien likely to run four in Phoenix

AIDAN O’BRIEN is set to have as many as four runners in Sunday’s Group One Independent Waterford Wedgwood Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh.

He hasn’t quite finalised his plans, but has narrowed the possibilites from an original ten to half that number.

Speaking yesterday, O’Brien said: “As things stand the five we are considering are Statue Of Liberty, Hold That Tiger, Ontario, Irrawaddy and Spartacus.
