Final joy for Flashy

UNLUCKY in the Derby Trial Stake finals at Loughrea and Clonmel and Kilsheelan, it was the last chance saloon at North Kilkenny yesterday for the Glounthaune, Co. Cork owned Beyond Flashy.

Final joy for Flashy

Due a change of luck, Tim O’Driscoll and Donal Leahy’s charge came out with all guns blazing here and won all his early courses with plenty to spare.

His best effort came in the semi-final when he flashed from slips to account for the Brendan Matthews trained Smiling Declan by four lengths.

A raging favourite in the final, he was again quickly into his stride and proved three lengths too good for the valiant Richwithoutmoney.

Although a late qualifier for Clonmel, many shrewd judges maintain he is no forlorn hope.
