Lynch’s career a rough ride as temper reigns over talent

FERGAL LYNCH has had a stormy racing career - he once attacked a steward with a chair - but there was never any doubt about his natural ability.

His father owned race horses, so Lynch, from Derry, was steeped in racing from an early age. He left the North as a teenager and joined a renowned jockey school in England.

He has never lived in Ireland since and has rarely raced here.
