A West Cork-owned and bred pacer,Cam’s Best, has set another record within these islands by becoming the fastest winner of the National Pacing Derby at Tir Prince Raceway in Wales.

John and Breda Shanahan’s three-year-old stallion by Cam’s Security and out of Kentucky Mir is now the holder of three British records - the British mile record, the track-record at York Raceway and now this three-year-old derby.

The owners have now pencilled in the Tregaron 3-Day Festival as the next outing for this outstanding three-year-old, with the target on this occasion being the “Little Welsh Dragon, “the British equivalent to the famous Little Brown Jug Series in the United States.
