Bend heads Sussex market
Last year’s 2000 Guineas winner has returned to his best form with victories in the Queen Anne Stakes and Coral-Eclipse Stakes on his last two starts.
And it seems that he may drop back to a mile after scoring over a mile and a quarter at Sandown earlier this month.
“Refuse To Bend might go for the Sussex Stakes. It is under strong consideration but it doesn’t mean he will definitely run, as we will have to talk to Sheikh Mohammed first,” said Godolphin’s racing manager Simon Crisford.
“He has come out of his Sandown race really well and is in flying form - we couldn’t be happier with him.”
Ladbrokes bet: 2-1 Refuse To Bend, 4-1 Soviet Song, 5-1 Haafhd, 12-1 Antonius Pius, Bachelor Duke, Kalaman, One Cool Cat, 16-1 Arakan, Nayyir, Salselon, 20-1 Salford City, Yesterday, 25-1 bar.
