Belle spreadeagles her Thyestes rivals

BRILLIANT novice Be My Belle, carrying the colours of Midleton, Co Cork lady Mary Aherne and racing from 9lbs out of the handicap, spreadeagled the field to turn in a spectacular performance in the Thyestes Handicap Chase at Gowran Park yesterday.

In doing so she continued the remarkable rehabilitation of pilot, Timmy Murphy, who is rapidly heading to the top of the tree and gave her a smashing ride.

Be Me Belle jumped for fun at the front and it would be no exaggeration to say she had the look of a winner a long way from home.
