Supreme bids for glory at Haydock
The 10-year-old is one of 25 horses who were left in the race at yesterday's five-day stage and the 2001 Welsh National winner is heading for the three-and-a-half mile event.
"The plan is to run on Saturday as long as the ground stays on the good side," said Murphy.
"If the ground gets too bad I won't run him and instead send him to Fontwell over hurdles next Monday."
Supreme Glory's last run was when he finished 31 lengths behind Tote Cheltenham Gold Cup hope Valley Henry in the Aon Chase at Newbury on February 8.
Murphy reported his charge to be in top order and said: "He's very well. He ran a really good race at Newbury and it just sharpened him up mentally and physically."
See More Business and Behrajan, who were set to carry 11st 12lbs and 11st 11lbs respectively, have been taken out of the race, which means the weights are set to rise by at least 10lbs.
Supreme Glory was originally allotted 9st 9lbs but will now carry at least 10st 5lbs.
"It's a perfect racing weight," said Murphy. "Leighton (Aspell) can do the weight with a nice saddle. What you don't want is your jockey wasting too hard before a three-and-a-half mile race."
Supreme Glory has had just three races this season as Murphy has had the Martell Cognac Grand National in mind since the start of the campaign.
He was pulled up on desperate ground in the Welsh National and his other run came when fourth to See More Business in the John Hughes Rehearsal Chase also at Chepstow.
Supreme Glory could face Welsh National winner Mini Sensation at the Merseyside track as Jonjo O'Neill has left him in along with Carbury Cross.
Paul Nicholls' Shotgun Willy is set to carry top weight, while the Shepton Mallet trainer also has Whitenzo in the race.
Champion trainer Martin Pipe has six possible runners Iris Bleu, Stormez, Take Control, You're Agoodun, Royal Predica and Jurancon II.
Last year's Grand National winner Bindaree could contest the race, as could Paul Webber-trained Frosty Canyon and Venetia Williams' Jocks Cross. Leading Aintree fancies Gunner Welburn, Ardent Scout and Amberleigh House are all in the race while the field is completed by Hugo De Grez, Wonder Weasel, Fatehalkhair, Lord Of The River and Kit Smartie.
