The Guarantor looks one to note
The Executive Perk gelding is the first horse Willie Mullins has trained for Michael Smurfit and appears to have a bright future.
He totally outclassed his rivals last month, travelling sweetly throughout for Jamie Cood, before lengthening clear in the straight to score unextended by seven lengths.
It remains to be seen just how good a race that really was, but there was sufficient merit in the The Guarantor’s performance to believe him capable of landing the nap.
Aidan O’Brien can enjoy a double with two once-raced horses, Born In America and Fantasticat.
Born In America gets the nod in the Irish Stallion Farms Maiden. Beaten just under six lengths when fourth behind Acciacatura at Leopardstown on Saturday night, it is encouraging he is asked to turn out again so quickly.
Fantasticat was completely unfancied when beaten three short heads into fourth spot behind odds-on stable companion, Go For Gold, at Gowran Park, and can take the extended seven furlongs maiden.
It is safe to narrow down the Summer Barbeque Chase to Goss and True Blue Victory.
Goss got off the mark over fences when beating Murrayfield and subsequent winner, Golden Row, at Ballinrobe, while True Blue Victory easily won a moderate event at Clonmel. Preference is for True Blue Victory, who may find more for pressure when push comes to shove!
Masteroffoxhounds, a winner on the flat, over flights and two bumpers can make the best possible start over fences in the Junction Beginners Chase.
