Mubtaker’s Newbury date
The eight-year-old looked set for retirement earlier in the season after a couple of a disappointing runs but he underwent a late-season renaissance, notching up three wins on the bounce before finishing unplaced in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.
“Hopefully he will run on Saturday,” said trainer Marcus Tregoning yesterday.
“He’s had a little bit of a break since France, but he will have to work well in the morning.
“He seems in good form and the break has just freshened him up nicely and we hope he will go well.
He added: “This will be has last run of the season, he will then have a nice break and will hopefully be back next year.”
