JIMMY FORTUNE will have to wait until today to learn the full extent of the back problem that caused him to collapse at the Curragh on Sunday.

The jockey left hospital in Salisbury on Monday but had to go back for an MRI scan yesterday. Fortune is expected to get the results of the scan today.

Apprentice David Nolan was yesterday fined £125 by the Jockey Club’s disciplinary panel for riding without the required licence. He was found in beach of Rule 60 (iii) in that when he left Ian Wood’s employment on May 6 his apprentice jockey’s licence was terminated until his new one with Paul Blockley was granted on May 16.
