Project should be spot on

CHARLIE SWAN'S Strong Project is the nap choice to take the Southampton Goodwill Chase at Listowel today.

He enjoyed a spin on the level at Tralee last month and that should have left the nine-year-old spot on for this test.

He put up some decent efforts last season, winning on three occasions. Among his success was an 11 lengths victory at the Leopardstown Christmas meeting and he also scored on that track in March.

Strong Project likes plenty of cut in the ground and if the rains come then it would increase one's confidence in his ability to do the business.

Christy Roche, on the mark this week with Charyan, can land the Bumper with once-raced Bonne Noel's.

He performed with a huge amount of promise at the Punchestown Festival in April when third behind Silent Oscar and previous winner, Ballyagran.

Powerstation, who looked a very useful sort in the making when taking a Clonmel bumper by eight lengths back in February, gets the nod to make a winning start over jumps in the John J Galvin Maiden Hurdle.

Tiffany Gardens, an easy winner earlier in the week, may defy a mandatory 5lbs penalty in the Liam O'Flaherty Handicap.

She goes up 10lbs in the future.
