Light to shine in Murphy’s final

BOHERDUFF LIGHT stands out in the Murphy’s Irish Stout Stakes final, the feature at Youghal tonight.

Owen Mckenna’s ace boasts a superb strike-rate at this circuit, winning four of his five starts and finishing third in the other.

Boherduff Light set the seaside track alight last week, showing his rivals a clean pair of heels en route to a record-breaking 28.61 success.

Ideally sited on the rails, he can scoop the €5,000 winner’s prize at the expense of kennelmate Beamokee.

A nine-times winner, Beamokee showed all the right qualities when coming from behind to beat Riverside Jake a couple of lengths in 29.14 and should go well.

Lone wide seed Chipp Lad ran on well to finish a six lenths second behind Boherduff Light and is capable of making his presence felt.
