Godolphin keen on Shamardal

GODOLPHIN are optimistic Shamardal can redeem his reputation in the Poule d’Essai des Poulains (French 2000 Guineas) at Longchamp tomorrow.

The son of Giant’s Causeway flopped in the dirt behind his stable companion Blues And Royals in the UAE Derby at Nad Al Sheba in March but has been pleasing connections since working back on turf.

Shamardal has 14 rivals, including the Carlos Laffon Parias-trained Laverock and David Wachman’s Indesatchel, both supplemented yesterday.
