Jockey Club set to quiz Faulkner over newspaper claim
The News of the World alleged sthat Faulkner offered to sell them information on runners from stables he rides out for including David Loder’s string of two-year-olds.
The report says Faulkner claims races are being “fixed” everyday.
Faulkner is alleged to have offered to sell the investigator a horse that would be trained by his brother under a false licence.
It is claimed Faulkner says the horse can be run down the handicap to gain an extra advantage.
John Maxse, the Jockey Club’s public relations director, yesterday confirmed racing’s regulators will now be taking a closer look at the claims.
“The News Of the World have offered to make available their information and we would be interested to see any evidence they have put together first hand,” he said.
“As part of our investigation we will be interviewing Gavin Faulkner to hear his account of events.”
