Laudable looks good for openers

JOHN OXX’S once-raced Laudable can get us away to the perfect start by taking the opening Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Maiden at Gowran Park this evening.

Laudable looks good for openers

The son of Machiavellian made a promising debut at the Curragh last month, finishing a length and a half runner-up behind Carnegie Hall.

The form has been working out well, particularly regarding third placed, Defi, who went on to score at Galway and Tipperary.

Carnegie Hall’s stable companion, Euphrates, looks the biggest danger.

He was the medium of some decent wagers at Naas last week, finding 2-5 from 4-6. The Danehill colt failed by a length and a half, however, to Perfect Memory, but it would be no surprise should he leave that effort well behind!

Galway failure Muntami will be the focus of much attention in the Rooftop Restaurant and Bar Maiden.

He cost his supporters an absolute bundle at Ballybrit, performing most disappointingly to finish just over 16 length fifth behind Starrystarrynight.

The son of Daylami had clearly been showing plenty at home and, dropping down two and a half furlongs in trip, can redeem some of those previous losses.

Tivoli Fountain and Descriptive will be popular choices in the Gowran Park Nursery, but preference is for Shadow Ash.

She gets plenty weight from the pair, was noted staying on strongly when second to the heavily gambled-on Brogue Lanterns at Sligo. Michael Kinane is a significant booking.

Heaven’s Help, dropped in class and distance, but who has promised more than she has delivered thus far, gets a hopeful vote to land a moderate looking Irish Stallion Farms’ EBF Fillies Maiden.
