Dubawi on target for Royal meeting
The Irish 2000 Guineas winner finished third behind Motivator at Epsom after failing to last out the mile and a half. He was reported yesterday to have come out of the race in fine shape and he could drop back to a mile for the St James’s Palace Stakes.
“He seems to have come out of the race very well and was in good form this morning,” said Godolphin racing manager Simon Crisford.
“We’ll monitor him for a week before making any definite plans, but the St James’s Palace Stakes is still very much a possibility.”
Hong Kong sensation Silent Witness narrowly suffered the second defeat of his career when he had to settle for third in the Yasuda Kinen in Japan yesterday.
Tony Cruz’s gelding had previously notched up a record 17 consecutive victories before he was beaten by stablemate Bullish Luck last month when trying a mile for the first time. In a bunched finish, Asakusa Den’en held the late challenge of Sweep Tosho by a neck with Silent Witness a head back in third.
