Canitomcan triumphs in O’Gorman Cup

CANITOMCAN, owned by the Toms The Boss Syndicate from Mallow, Co. Cork and trained by Kathleen Murphy, won the O’Gorman Cup at the Milford Open Coursing meeting yesterday.

In the final he came up against the Watercourse Inn Syndicate’s (Cork), Watercourse Boy, and got the better of an exciting buckle.

The Curtin Cup went to Denis Cunningham from Charleville, Co. Cork when his Denjo proved too good for Roger Sheehy’s (Kilmallock) Snagle Rock, while the local Watson Cup was won by Michael Giltinan’s Giltiglow who defeated Michael Curtin’s Cleanglass Touch in the decider. Fog affected coursing early on but when it cleared plenty of hares were secured and the standard of course was quite high, with the last final being run off at 3.30.
