Line lands Grade One American prize

LUAS LINE completed a hat-trick of wins with success in the Grade One Garden City Breeders’ Cup Stakes at Belmont Park on Saturday.

David Wachman’s three-year-old stepped up on her recent Listed wins at Cork and Gowran to beat Asi Siempre by one and a half lengths. John Velazquez settled the Irish raider in second place as My Typhoon set the early pace and he began his move as the field turned into the straight. Luas Line soon hit top gear but she had to run through a flock of errant geese in the process before powering away for a convincing success.
