Murphy hearing on hold
The ban rules the in-form rider out from St Stephen's Day until New Year’s Day inclusive, meaning he is set to miss the ride on either Our Vic or Therealbandit in the King George VI Chase at Kempton, as well as a host of other high-profile engagements.
The Jockey Club had been hoping to hold the hearing today as the appeal board is already scheduled to sit on another matter.
However, the Jockey Club public relations director John Maxse said yesterday afternoon: `“There was a window of opportunity in the morning which would have allowed Timmy Murphy to get to Windsor in time to ride. However, his solicitor has informed us that they do not want to take up that offer. Consequently we are looking at the options of holding the inquiry next week. We hope to confirm a date tomorrow.”
