Moloney family jumping for joy at Millstreet

THE Moloney family from Warrington, Kilkenny, were in flying form on the opening day at Millstreet Horse Show yesterday where brothers Richie and Eddie Moloney finished first and third in the 1.30 speed event and their father Tom’s youngster On A Frolic topped the 1.10m class with Linda Ekberg on board.

Riding Sure Flo, an eight year old mare by Diamond Clover, 22-year-old Richie produced the fastest time when crossing the line in 54.76 to pip Corinne Hyde and Awbeg Duchess by well over a second to seal the 1.30m result.

Richie’s older brother Eddie was just a fraction further behind when slotting into third with Cian O’Connor’s 10-year-old Cantus B, a gelding by the top sire Cantus.
