Droopys Caesar for spell at stud

THE flying Droopys Caesar (Hilltown-Fiery Lucy) has been temporarily grounded for a spell at stud in the Dunphy kennels in Portlaw, Co. Waterford.

His big reputation preceded him to Glanworth for his trial stake last season, and, a raging favourite, he demolished the opposition to qualify for the Derby. However, after clocking fastest in the first round of the classic in Clonmel, a muscle injury put paid to further progress.

He re-appeared at New Ross early this month, but after a stunning first round ‘clock’, injury struck again and it was decided to put him to stud.
