Droopys Caesar for spell at stud
His big reputation preceded him to Glanworth for his trial stake last season, and, a raging favourite, he demolished the opposition to qualify for the Derby. However, after clocking fastest in the first round of the classic in Clonmel, a muscle injury put paid to further progress.
He re-appeared at New Ross early this month, but after a stunning first round ‘clock’, injury struck again and it was decided to put him to stud.
Connections hope to put him back in training later in the season for a tilt at the Irish Cup.
His litter brothers also distinguished themselves in the Derby. Bar None qualified for the Derby final before being withdrawn injured. However, he displayed his well being recently when winning the Desmond Cup at Glin.
Castle Pines was another notable in the litter, and reached the Derby quarter-final.
