McCoy to renew acquaintances with Brave Inca
The British champion jockey teamed up with Colm Murphy's gelding for the first time at the Punchestown Festival in April.
McCoy gave Brave Inca a brilliant drive to beat old rival Harchibald by a head, after the latter looked like swamping him approaching the final flight.
Harchibald was confirmed a definite runner, after coming through a crucial gallop yesterday morning.
“I am happy with him, he worked very well”, said trainer, Noel Meade. “If it stays dry between now and Sunday he will take his chance.
“He gave himself a wrap at Tipperary (seasonal debut) and that held him up for two weeks. He then bruised a foot and that took another week.”
Paul Carberry will ride Harchibald, with Barry Geraghty on Macs Joy and Ruby Walsh aboard Essex. The only other occasion Walsh has ridden Essex was on the flat at Laytown.
The big novice clash at Punchestown on Sunday is also set to ahead with Meade's Wild Passion and Dusty Sheehy's Justified going to take each other on in the Craddockstown Chase.
