KAHUNA, who has been on the floor in both his races over fences, is napped to put it all together in the Beginners Chase at Thurles this afternoon.

Ruby Walsh now takes over from regular pilot, Shay Barry, and the seven-year-old has to be fancied to cope with main rival, Sandy Owen.

The selection was strongly fancied at the first time of asking at Roscommon last month, but took one chance at the third last and paid the full penalty in the contest won by Always.

Then at Clonmel two weeks ago, Kahuna was again the medium of some decent wagers and was clear and certain of victory when falling at the final fence, leaving Scarthy Lad in for a bloodless success.

Dusty Sheehy’s charge has been desperately unlucky so far, but, in actual fact, is a brilliant jumper and can prove it now.

The more than useful Sandy Owen, in front when falling two out in the race won by Sraid Na Cathrach at Punchestown, has to be respected.

Walsh, who is riding out of his skin, also has prospects aboard Joueur d’Estruval in the Clonoulty Hurdle.

Better know as a chaser these days, Joueur d'Estruval may come on plenty for a recent spin over flights, fifth to Master Albert at Punchestown.

Wishwillow Lord, on his shock defeat of potentially top class Sweet Kiln here, is the clear form choice, but it remains to be seen whether that was just a freak result!

Thats An Idea, Sunami Storm and Mrs Wallensky promise an interesting three-cornered tussle for the INH Stallion Owner's EBF Novice Hurdle.

Thats An Idea, unbeaten in two bumpers and a Killarney maiden hurdle, could be very decent but has yet to tackle anything of note and a watching brief may be best on this occasion.

Sunami Storm stepped way up on previous efforts when scoring by eight lengths at Gowran Park, but preference is for the durable Mrs Wallensky, who made most when beating Raikkonen at Fairyhouse.

Markason, who landed a proper gamble at Fairyhouse six days ago, has clearly got first run on the handicapper and has to fancied to defy a mandatory 4lbs penalty in the Leugh Handicap Hurdle.
