One Cool Cat 9-4 to redeem his reputation at the Curragh

A TOTAL of 25 colts, including leading fancies Azamour, Grey Swallow and Newmarket disappointment One Cool Cat, remain in the Boylesports Irish 2000 Guineas at the Curragh on Saturday following yesterday’s forfeit stage.
One Cool Cat 9-4 to redeem his reputation at the Curragh

One Cool Cat was sent off the 15-8 favourite for the UltimateBet.com 2000 Guineas earlier this month but trailed in 13th of the 14 runners. He was later found to be suffering from an irregular heartbeat.

Aidan O’Brien’s charge is a 9-4 chance with Paddy Power to make amends at the Curragh.

Azamour and Grey Swallow finished third and fourth respectively in the Newmarket race but will not be able to renew rival with the victorious Haafhd, who as expected was withdrawn from the Group One feature.

O’Brien has left in six horses. The others are Meath, Book Of Kings, Grand Reward, Moscow Ballet and Newton while Grey Swallow’s trainer Dermot Weld could also field Wathab and Hayburn Street.

Roger Charlton has left in last season’s Coventry Stakes winner Three Valleys along with stablemate Josephus and other possible British runners include Milk It Mick, Bachelor Duke, Azarole, Primus Inter Paros and Leitrim House.

Marcus Tregoning has two possibles in So Will I and Oriental Warrior.

The French have four entries which include Bago, Saville Row and Whipper, who finished fifth at Newmarket.

The British look to have a strong hand in the Ridgewood Pearl Stakes for which a total of seven have been confirmed.

Godolphin have left in their Peugeot Sun Chariot Stakes winner Echoes In Eternity, while James Toller may run Hanami. Soviet Song is the other possible British challenger.

James Fanshawe had earmarked the mile contest earlier this month for Soviet Song after she finished a good third in a Group Two contest at Sandown last month.
