Kinane set for title

MICK KINANE strengthened his position in the race for the London Clubs Trophy after another winner yesterday took his tally to four at Royal Ascot at York.

The Irishman is now as short as 1-4 with Paddy Power to be crowned the meeting’s champion jockey

Bookmakers believe yesterday’s victory on Jedburgh gives Kinane, who landed the award three years running from 1994 to 1996, an unassailable lead. Ted Durcan is in second spot with two.
