High Chaparral can make short work of rivals

HIGH CHAPARRAL, short of peak fitness or not, has to be fancied to make short work of his rivals in the Royal Whip Stakes at the Curragh tomorrow.

You could argue ten furlongs is short of his best and that he has to concede weight all round. But the four-year-old is a class act and his five rivals aren’t in the same league.

High Chaparral was a real Ballydoyle success story as a three-year-old, winning the Epsom Derby and Irish Derby and finishing with a fine performance in the Breeders’ Cup at Arlington Park.
