Icantellya withdrawn over passport irregularity

THE final race at Thurles yesterday, the second division of the Mares Bumper, produced a rare occurrence at an Irish racetrack, writes Pat Keane.

Icantellya withdrawn over passport irregularity

The stewards received a report from Turf Club vet, Joan Taylor, in relation to a passport irregularity concerning the John Carr trained Icantellya, who was set to make her debut. The stewards ordered the withdrawal of the five-year-old daughter of Luso.

It subsequently came to the notice of the stewards that the wrong horse had been transported to the meeting.

At that stage Carr had left the track and the matter was referred by the stewards to the CEO of the Turf Club for further investigation.
