Pier-less Seacrest takes Super Sprint
Having been slightly fortunate to make it through the heats (baulked), he made no mistake in last Wednesday's semi-finals and repeated the feat in a personal best of 17.59 to take the €7,500 prize on Saturday.
Owned by Denis Browne of Castleisland and trained by up-and-coming Patrick O'Connor in Tarbert, the winner was led by the fast starting Simple Advice early on. However, Seacrest Pier, making full use of the normally unfavourable inside draw, had taken over in front by the bend. Simple Advice's effort was short lived as Great Display and the even money favourite Mineola Foreman (slowly away) emerged as the dangers between bends.
