Double delight for Fahy
Fahy is contesting decisions against the disqualification of Altay after a wide-margin success at Lingfield last Wednesday, and the Southwell stewards failing to award Inch Perfect a race on Saturday after finishing second to Mr Gisby.
Cash For Questions is now an 11-year-old but battled up the run-in for conditional Padge Whelan to get the better of Sonny Jim by three-quarters of a length and win the Festival of British Railway Modelling Exhibition Handicap Hurdle for the second time in four years.
Conditional jockey David O’Meara was seen to good effect as he got Dene View up on the line to beat the champion jockey Tony McCoy’s mount Skinsey Finnegan - and ironically the winning rider’s whip appeared to be knocked out of his hand in the last few strides.
Richard Johnson took the overall riding honours with a double on Another General and Battle Warning to take his score to 96 even though he was out of action for three months with a broken leg.
