Dutch Gold the class act
This half-brother to dual-Classic winner Crimplene will be bidding for a second win this season in the High-Rise Classified Stakes at Pontefract and he looks to be the class act.
The son of Lahib gets some huge weight allowances from his rivals here as he is only a three-year-old and although he would look to have a stiff task against older rivals this early in the season, Dutch Gold should be ready for the task.
Brittain gave him a prep race at Lingfield last month and he duly trotted up from subsequent winner Miss Grace in good fashion.
He obviously took well to the dirt surface after a juvenile campaign that had seen him run some fair races, most notably when second to Big Bad Bob at Chester last August.
Dutch Gold certainly seems to be coming on in leaps and bounds and he can add to his tally in this £20,000-added event.
Gala Sunday came up against some top-class juveniles last season and he can gain a nice confidence-boosting success in the Yorkshire Racing Club Median Auction Stakes.
