Martin to launch Davids Lad appeal

CONNECTIONS of Davids Lad have decided to appeal against the 42-day ban imposed on the gelding

The suspension currently rules Davids Lad out of the Cheltenham Festival and the Martell Cognac Grand National, for which he was the 14-1 second favourite in the ante-post market.

After the horse had trailed in last in the Paddy & Helen Cox Memorial Newlands Chase handler Tony Martin was fined €1,000 for using the racecourse as a training ground and jockey Timmy Murphy banned for seven days for insufficient effort.
