Martin to launch Davids Lad appeal
The suspension currently rules Davids Lad out of the Cheltenham Festival and the Martell Cognac Grand National, for which he was the 14-1 second favourite in the ante-post market.
After the horse had trailed in last in the Paddy & Helen Cox Memorial Newlands Chase handler Tony Martin was fined €1,000 for using the racecourse as a training ground and jockey Timmy Murphy banned for seven days for insufficient effort.
“I’ve spoken to the owners and we are going to appeal,” Martin told the Racing Post.
