Letitia’s Loss set to go one better

LETITIA’S LOSS is fancied to score in the gruelling Racecourse Video Services Handicap Hurdle at Sedgefield today.

Far from disgraced in her first run of the campaign when fourth over an inadequate two-and-a-half miles at Ayr she reappeared over course and distance three weeks later and found only the favourite too good.

Clearly blessed with stamina in abundance, Letitia's Loss is likely to strip even fitter and must have an excellent chance of defying a 4lb higher mark.

A maiden chase winner at Sedgefield four weeks ago, Canavan has a solid chance of completing a course-and-distance double in the Ramside Event Catering Handicap Chase.

A relentless galloper who relishes a slog through the mud, Canavan simply destroyed his opposition last month eventually winning by a very comfortable 16 lengths having had the race sewn up a long way out.

Racing off what appears to be a very lenient mark in his first handicap chase, he looks the type who could run up a sequence over extreme distances.

The progressive Reflected Glory is expected to run a big race in the Elizabeth Finn Care Novices' Chase at Exeter.

It will be his fourth consecutive visit to the Devon track and his third at the distance over which he won a handicap in December before finishing second to the improving Idle Talk in a novices' chase just into the New Year.

Being from a stable with an embarrassment of riches, Reflected Glory is fancied to further his education in this sphere by regaining winning ways.

The Max Dunford Novices' Handicap Hurdle gives The Luder an opportunity to add to last month's Wincanton success. The son of Naheez went close to opening his account at Chepstow in December before the move up to today's distance of two-and-three-quarter miles at the Somerset course saw him hit the target.

Paul Nicholls' charge has been raised 8lb but, being lightly raced, there's every chance he has more than enough improvement in him to offset that increase.
