AFTER a three year absence the J. P. McManus Irish Cup returns to Limerick with this year’s renewal getting underway at Limerick Racecourse this morning (11.30) and continuing until Sunday.

To mark the occasion McManus has presented a new gold perpetual trophy, reminiscent of the Webb Ellis Trophy for the rugby Wold Cup.

The draw on Sunday produced an intriguing but tough first quarter.
