Helens Reject upsets hot favourite

THERE was a surprise in the final of the Treaty Cup at the Limerick City meeting at Ballysheedy yesterday when the hot favourite, Killeagh Noble, was beaten by the bitch, Helens Reject.

The winner is owned by Sean Casey of Croagh and Michael Mann of Patrickswell. She showed the better pace in a straight run to the escape.

The Oaks Trial Stake went to the Clare owned Rihey Byway, the property of Michael Hehir and Patrick Darcy, who beat the unsighted Wrinkle Lady.

The Derby Trial Stake was won by Ardmayle Town, owned by master Bernard McBride of Co. Tipperary.
