Deserved bronze for Condon

THE talent of Anthony Condon combined with the ability and experience of Another Riot to bring glory to Irish showjumping last Friday when winning a bronze medal at the European Pony Championships.

The 15-year-old, from Cappagh, Co Waterford, belied his lack of international experience he has only competed outside the country twice before, both times at Hickstead to beat some of the Continent's best.

Underlining his achievement is the fact he only took up the reins on the 14-year-old mare in March, after an approach by owner Mary Quinlivan.
