JOCKEYS Mick Fitzgerald and John Kavanagh missed winners after giving up their rides following falls during the afternoon at Taunton yesterday.

Fitzgerald was taken to Musgrove General Hospital for X-rays on his badly bruised left ankle, while Kavanagh will undergo the same treatment for a heavily bruised left elbow.

Both riders forfeited winners as a result with Carl Rafter deputising for Kavanagh aboard Power Unit, who landed the Taunton Racecourse Seminar Centre Novices' Handicap Chase by six lengths from Saint Romble.
